Agenda Murguera presents its second CD Carnaval Porteño, a selection of songs by murgas, the popular groups that act at Buenos Aires’ Carnival.
Dani Buira, producer and creator of this initiative will be present at the event along with the Carnival’s bands participating in the record, which will perform some of the songs live.
This Project, born in 2006, tries to show some of the best songs created for B.A. and Great B.A.’ Carnival celebrations.
Compositions from several genres are represented in the CD: recitations, presentation songs, critical songs, tribute songs, percussion demonstrations, as well. Murgas from several neighborhoods and styles gathered for this project, from La pasión que faltaba, formed by children and teenagers from Villa 24 in Barracas, to Viciosos de Almagro (founded in 1950) or Los Soñadores de Villa Pueyrredón, both very traditional, and Los Descontrolados de Barracas (murga-theater of Circuito Cultural Barracas), La Redoblona, which mixes Uruguayan songs with Argentine dancing, and Los Linyeras de La Boca, typical humorous and coral group from the neighborhood of La Boca.
