Hollywood’ chics on the big screen
George Cukor, the man who loved women is the title of the series of movies presented at the Sala Leopoldo Lugones of Teatro San Martín, from Thursday 24 thru Wednesday 30. This series comprises 14 classics by the emblematic film-maker of the Golden Age in Hollywood, specialized -as no one else- in directing actresses, both in comedies, musicals and melodramas. During 50 years, Cukor (1899-1983) was close friend of Katharine Hepburn, and he was the filmmaker who directed her the most. This series rescues 5 of his most famous contributions. Other titles are starred by celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Joan Crawford, Judy Hollyday, Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant, James Stewart and Gene Kelly, who make Cukor’s films one of the most fulgurated constellations in the history of Hollywood.
