Museo Larreta renovates and remembers Miguel de Molina
From Sat 3, at noon, Museo de Arte Español Enrique Larreta will open three permanent exhibition rooms, which have been recently restored, to present the show “Miguel de Molina - El rey de la copla”, a tribute for the centennial of the birth of the famous Spanish-Argentine artist. With these works, Museo Larreta has began a phase of reconditioning of their exhibition-rooms with the aim to reach the Bicentennial year with the totality of its exhibition areas completed restored. Works have consisted on reparation and restoration of building and wall painting at different rooms.
The Main Patio, where furniture, paintings and cravings from the 16th and 17th centuries are exhibited, as well as decorative arts and Arabian pieces from Spain; the Patio Andaluz -a place for the important work by Spanish ceramist Daniel Zuloaga-, completely painted and repaired, and the Sala Berruguete, dedicated to Spanish religious imaginary, with Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque pieces, which was painted and illuminated according to the rules established for the conservation of the pieces, a task supervised by expert Mauricio Rinaldi.
The exhibition about Miguel de Molina (1908-1993), organized along with Museo del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken, shows photographs from his short pace in Nacional cinematography, as well as posters, scores, advertising and costumes used during his drama performing. Fans that belonged to his personal collection and other accesories from his clothing will be also exhibited. Besides, several musical numbers from his movies will be shown, such as “Esta es mi vida” and “Luces de candilejas”.
