Alfredo Rubin and his guitars, in Almagro
Musician, singer and composer Alfredo Rubín along with Las Guitarras de Puente Alsina will present every Thursday of May at FEL (Fundación Esteban Lisa), where they perform themes from a CD they are recording, consisting on tangos, waltzes and milongas.
Tango trio is formed by Alfredo Rubín (voice and guitar) and Las Guitarras de Puente Alsina, Mariano Heler y Adrián Lacruz.
Its tangos, waltzes and milongas reflect, in music and lyrics, the present Buenos Aires in a dialogue with the Buenos Aires of always.
Owner of a great performing style, Alfredo Rubín us one of the best composers of new tango, in the trend that may be called the present renovation of the genre. With a personal way to perform and make feel tango, is one of the most originalo singers at present who keeps the tango spirit intact.
Some themes to be presented at the shows are Ella se fue, Viento solo, Lysou, Bluses de Boedo, Aire sin final, La Marilyn (from their first CD Reina noche) and new themes from their comino album Lujo total, including a version for guitars of Lengua seca, tango by Orquesta Típica Fernández Fierro.
Alfredo Rubín has been working intensely from 1990 as solo performer in guitar and voice, performing classics as well as his own compositions. In 1997 he founded the Almagro Quartet, one of the most important bands of the new generation, where he was arranger, bass player and singer, working in Argentina and abroad until 2001. This band recorded the CD Hemisferios.
He has also taken part in several editions of Festival Buenos Aires Tango organized by the City Government.
