On their international day, museums are free
To celebrate the Internationa Day of Museums, the exhibition rooms in town will be open with free admission on Sunday 18. People will be able to enjoy of shows and activities held on the ocassion at the Centro de Museos de Buenos Aires, Casa Carlos Gardel, Museo de Arte Español Enrique Larreta, de Arte Hispanoamericano Isaac Fernández Blanco, de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, de Arte Popular José Hernández, de Artes Plásticas Eduardo Sívori, de Esculturas Luis Perlotti, de la Ciudad, del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken & Histórico de Buenos Aires Cornelio de Saavedra.
These activities will be held to commemorate the International Day of Museums, promoted by the International Counsil of Museums (ICOM), of UNESCO, with the motto “Museums as agents of social change and development. Web.

5pm. "¿Cómo descubrí los dinamogramas? A dialogue with Prof. César A. Fioravanti”, as closing of the exhibition of engravings “Tribute to Prof. César A. Fioravanti”, which also includes 70 pieces of guest engravers and pupils selected from arts’ schools “Lola Mora” and “Manuel Belgrano”.

Guided tours in the house where Carlos Gardel and his mother lived, at the Abasto neighborhood, where the following exhibitions can be seen: “Cine en 2x4”,; “Carlos Gardel en los libros. Colección Ana Turón”, about the presence of Gardel in literature, and the shows dedicated to Julio De Caro and Vicente Greco, as part of the series  “Carlos Gardel and his composers”.

Three exhibition rooms with permanent material, recently restored: Patio Central, where furniture, paintings and pieces from the 16th and 17th centuries, decorative arts and some documents from Arabian culture in Spain; Patio Andaluz –with the significant work by Spaniard ceramist Daniel Zuloaga- that has been repaired and painted, and Sala Berruguete, dedicated to Spanish religious imaginary with medieval works, from Renaissance and Baroque, also renovated. With these pieces, Museo Larreta began a new stage of reconditioning of its rooms with the aim to achieve the Bicentennial with the complete exhibition places restored. Besides, the exhibition “Miguel de Molina - El rey de la copla”, organized along with Museo del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken commemorates the 100th birthday of the famous Spanish-Argentine artista, with photos, posters, scores, advertising, costume, fans and other accessories of his particular dressing.

At 5.30pm “Espantapájaros (al alcance de todos)”, show by Alberto Tesser based on the book by Oliverio Girondo. Besides, with the title “El Cuarto Mundo”, the museum presents the final exposition of its patrimony, which comprises three new rooms, with collections of the museum: silvery, imaginary and Latin-American furniture from the 16th thru 18th centuries, documents, books, religious ornaments, engravings, ceramics, costumes and women’s accessories, as well as temporary exhibitions “Donación Alicia Jurado y Fernández Blanco”, with objects of writer Alicia Jurado, grandchild of Isaac Fernández Blanco, and “Recuérdame por siempre. Joyas de la gráfica postal de los siglos XIX-XX”, comprising more than 900 postcards that belonged to the collection of  Mabel and María Castellano Fotheringham.

From 5pm, a show of oral narration by Grupo Encuentracuentos. Then, fileteador Alberto Pereira will do a demonstration of this criollo art, as part of the exhibition “Filete y poemas de Alberto Pereira”, which includes tables and objected filleted by one of the greatest artist in the world of filet. There will also be possible to visit the expositions at the museum, comprising its permanent patrimony. In three of the exhibition rooms (Maestros Artesanos, Plateros, Arte Textil Tradicional) can be seen: colorful costumes from Corrientes’ carnival, wooden pieces, tapestry, bags, ceramics, musical instruments, religious images, and many objects of daily use, done by reknown Argentine artisans. And the outstanding collection of silvery, which shows the work by the main silver makers in the Rio de la Plata, composed by objects made in the middle 19th century and traditional textiles by Mapuches women.

Museum presents several activities, including one at the Parque Micaela Bastida, Rosario Vera Peñaloza y J. Lanteri (Puerto Madero), where from 9am thru 1pm there will be a painting contest. In Palermo, from 3pm, the show of narration "Eran tres y un precipicio", is destined to children under 10, and at 5pm, “Mujeres enamoradas piensan”, a drama play by and with Clara Vaccaro. At different rooms, there are exhibitions of Argentine art: “Patrimonio  1900-1960”; “Paralelo 58  - Alejandro Argüelles - Fabián Attila - Juan Pablo Fernández Bravo”; “Patrimonio - La abstracción después de las vanguardias”, pieces of geometric abstraction by María Martorell, Ary Brizzi, Miguel Ángel Vidal and Anselmo Piccoli, among others, with guided tours at 3pm and 5pm.

Presents the exhibition “Corsini canta en Buenos Aires”, a tribute to the famous tango singer that recalls his discographic success and his friendship with Carlos Gardel, Gabino Ezeiza & José Betinotti, with the help of collectors Dr. Emilio Santaballa and Pablo López Coda. Besides, the exhibitios “Años de abrir y cerrar”, “Los porteños vuelven a jugar y a divertirse con los juguetes de ayer” and “Ambientaciones” can be also visited. As part of the activities, the museum organices as every Sunday, the fairs of San Pedro Telmo, at Plaza Dorrego (Humberto I and Defensa) 10am-5pm, and De las Artes II, in the Plazoleta San Francisco (Alsina and Defensa), Noon-5pm.
MUSEO HISTÓRICO DE BUENOS AIRES CORNELIO DE SAAVEDRA - Crisólogo Larralde 6309 - Tel.: 4572-0746/4574-1328 – Open 10am-8pm.
Presents “Historias del agua” at 4pm and “Historia de las energías” at 5.30pm, both guided exhibitions of science, technology and environment. Those free activities have a maximun capacity of 50 people per show. The museum located at the farm Luis María Saavedra presents permanent exhibitions also, about daily life in Buenos Aires during the 19th Century and the main political, social and economic events of those times, thru documents, icons, silvery, jewelry, dresses, furniture, decorative arts, etc.
