The Photo Gallery of Teatro San Martín –directed by Juan Travnik- presents, until June 1st, the exhibition Restos de una inundación, by consecrated Argentine author Oscar Pintor, which comprises his most recent production, showing a marked evolution in his work. An outstanding protagonist of the photographic scene in the 80s’, his Black and White Works is about a very diverse thematic and is based on an aesthetic of findings, with a main thematic core in the exploration of urban and country landscapes and interiors. This new job, made in color, was born in a different way, from a box in which Pintor had stored old negatives, slides and copies from family images, that got affected by a flood in 1997. Some years later, before discarding them, he was curious about that piece of mashed papers and started to look at it carefully, getting fascinated with it: the family album’s images had remained affected with color changes and all kind of alterations. He began a work of restoring and registering everything he saw. And then, he also altered these images by using digital Technologies. These interventions created a mysterious and dreams’ world. Oscar Pintor was born in 1941 in San Juan. This show can be visited until Sunday June 1st, Mon-Fri from noon, and Sat & Sun from 2pm, until the activities in the theater are finished. Free admission. Teatro San Martín, Corrientes 1550.
