Four saxophones make tango

Saturday 24, 10pm, at La Scala de San Telmo, the saxos quartet Chamuyo present its tango repertory. Cuarteto Chamuyo is born in the middle 1997 with the aim to recreate a repertory of tangos, waltzes and milongas in an unconventional formation and sonority. The arrangements have been thought for different registers and characteristics of saxophone, substituting the melodic line, harmony, and rhythmic of traditional instruments in a tango orchestra, but respecting the essence of tango. Chamuyo has done two tours in Europe in 1998 & 2000, performing at theaters of France, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland and England. It has also performed at several stages in B.A. and the rest of the country, and has edited two CDs: "Chamuyo" (1999) & "Segunda Cita" (2004) The Group is formec by Diego Weber (saxo alto), Andrés Herrera (saxo alto), Gonzalo Martinez (saxo tenor), Marcelo Garófalo (saxo barítono).
